The rural nativity scene comes from the carving workshops of Deur in S. Cristina. It contains 67 different figures and animals, which represent the rural country life with their peasant appearance. The nativity figures of this nativity set are available in the sizes 7 cm, 9 cm, 12 cm, 15 cm and 18 cm. This nativity scene is also available as a Fir cone crib in Swiss stone pine.

The Holy Family in the Farmer's Nativity
With the wooden figures of the South Tyrolean farmer's nativity scene, the history of the Holy Night can be presented in a courtyard-like nativity scene. There are lying, standing, grazing and bleating sheep, which are protected by a shepherd dog and a pointed dog. In between there are several goats with their cute fawns. A proud cock watches over small chicks together with his hen. The Three Wise Kings Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar can be seen, who arrive from the Middle-East accompanied by riders with camels and elephants. A water carrier is already waiting to quench the thirst of the oriental-looking guests. Simple shepherds and playing children approach the stable where Joseph and Mary admire their Jesus child. And, of course, there are also ox and donkey in the farmer's crib.
The South Tyrolean rural nativity scene - woodcarving art of Val Gardena
The figures of the farm crib come from the South Tyrolean Gardena Valley, which is known for its particularly high-quality woodcarving art. Surrounded by the mountain scenery of the grey-white Dolomites, Deur's carvers have been making Nativity figures from maple wood for generations, which are then artfully refined. You can choose between "natural", "colored" and "multi-tone stained" versions. We offer 7 cm, 9 cm, 12 cm, 15 cm and 18 cm tall figures, whose height is generally based on the figure of St. Joseph. The peasant crib gets a particularly beautiful frame through a matching stable, which you can also buy here in the store.
